Natural Gas Ball Valve

The natural gas ball valve is a control valve specially used in the ‌gas transmission system‌. It can realize medium on-off and flow regulation by rotating the ball 90°. It is suitable for natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and other gas media.
The core functions include quick cut-off, sealing isolation and remote control, with a leakage rate as low as ‌≤1.3×10⁻⁴ Pa·L/S‌ (soft seal model).
‌Typical structure‌

‌Valve body‌: forged, mainly made of 316 stainless steel and carbon steel, with a pressure rating of ‌PN10~PN40‌ (Class 600~900);
‌Sealing components‌:
Soft seal: PTFE or PPL valve seat, temperature resistance ‌-20℃~150℃‌;
Metal hard seal: tungsten carbide/ceramic coating, temperature resistance up to ‌300℃‌;
‌Drive mode‌: manual (worm gear), pneumatic (response time ≤0.05 seconds) or electric (explosion-proof type), supporting remote centralized control.

Features‌
‌Fast shut-off capability‌

When driven by a pneumatic actuator, the switching speed is as fast as ‌0.05 seconds/time‌, which is suitable for emergency shut-off scenarios (such as gas leaks);
The floating ball design is self-tightened by the medium pressure to ensure stable closure under high pressure.
‌Sealing reliability‌

The double valve seat structure (soft seal + metal seal) forms a ‌triple sealing barrier‌, and the leakage rate is ≤ISO 5208 Class A standard;
Anti-static design: A conductive spring is set between the ball and the valve stem to avoid the risk of static electricity accumulation in gas.
‌Corrosion resistance and long life‌

The valve body is made of ‌corrosion-resistant alloy‌ (such as Hastelloy) or nickel-plated on the surface, which is suitable for natural gas media containing hydrogen sulfide;
Soft seal life ≥100,000 times of opening and closing, hard seal life ≥200,000 times.

Maintenance and safety regulations ‌
‌Maintenance points‌

Regularly lubricate the valve stem (food-grade grease) to prevent sticking;
Test the sealing performance every quarter (air pressure test ≥ 0.6MPa, maintain pressure for 5 minutes).
‌Safety regulations‌

It needs to be grounded during installation to avoid static electricity igniting gas;
The emergency shut-off valve should be equipped with a ‌redundant air source‌ to prevent actuator failure
