ci ball valve Description
Cast iron ball valve is a ball valve with cast iron (grey cast iron or ductile iron) as the valve body material. It realizes full open/full closed control of the fluid by rotating the internal ball. It is suitable for liquid, gas, oil and other media in medium and low pressure pipeline systems.
Core structure
Valve body and flange: Cast iron material provides good structural strength and corrosion resistance, and the valve body and pipeline are connected by flange or thread;
Ball and seal: The ball core is mostly made of stainless steel to enhance wear resistance, and the sealing ring is often made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) or rubber to ensure zero leakage;
Actuator: Supports manual operation (handle) or combined with pneumatic/electric actuators to achieve automatic control.
Working principle
The ball is driven to rotate 90° by rotating the valve stem. When the ball through hole is aligned with the pipeline, the medium flows, and it is completely cut off when it is vertical.
Cast iron ball valves are usually floating design, and the medium pressure pushes the ball close to the valve seat to enhance the sealing effect.
Features
Low flow resistance and high sealing
The full-bore design makes the fluid resistance close to that of a straight pipe, with low pressure loss;
The PTFE seal ring achieves zero leakage at room temperature, and some models can be adapted to metal hard seal to improve durability.
Corrosion resistance and economy
The cast iron valve body can withstand weak acids, weak alkalis and corrosive media after coating, and the cost is lower than cast steel or stainless steel valves;
Applicable to the temperature range of -20℃~200℃, meeting the needs of most medium and low pressure scenarios.
Easy to operate
The manual operation is light, and the opening and closing can be completed by rotating 90°, supporting quick response.
