Casting Ball Valve
Description
Cast ball valve is a type of ball valve with a valve body made by casting process as the core. Its valve body is mainly made of cast iron or cast steel. It is suitable for medium and low pressure pipeline systems. The flow of medium can be controlled or cut off by rotating the ball.
Structural composition
The core components of cast ball valve include:
Valve body: the main structure, which bears the pressure of the medium. The material is mostly gray cast iron, ductile iron or cast steel.
Ball: the core opening and closing part, the surface can be chrome-plated to enhance wear resistance, and the medium flow is controlled by rotation.
Valve stem: connects the ball and the operating mechanism, and the material is mostly cast iron or stainless steel.
Seal: PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) or metal seal is used to ensure zero leakage.
Valve seat: floating or fixed design, driven by medium pressure to achieve sealing.
Drive mechanism: manual (handle) or automatic (actuator), small operating torque, 90° rotation can be opened and closed.
Packing: Flexible graphite and other materials to ensure the sealing of the valve stem.

Casting Ball Valve

Reasons for choosing casting instead of forging
- Cost advantage: The casting process has a high material utilization rate, is suitable for mass production, and is cheaper than forging.
- Structural adaptability: Casting can manufacture valve bodies with complex shapes to meet the performance requirements of medium and low pressure systems.
- Performance matching: The strength of cast iron/cast steel is sufficient to cope with medium and low pressure scenarios, without the high cost of forging.
- Corrosion resistance: The corrosion resistance of the cast valve body can be improved by coating treatment, meeting most industrial scenarios.
- Easy maintenance: The cast ball valve has a simple structure, the sealing ring is easy to replace, and the maintenance cost is low.
