Cast Iron Plug Valve

Cast iron plug valve is a cast iron (such as grey cast iron HT200, ductile iron QT450) for the valve body material, through the rotation of the conical or cylindrical plug with through holes to achieve the medium cut off, diversion or flow control valve. Its core features and applications are as follows:

Structural features
Integral valve body
Integral casting valve body (top-loading design), no split seams, eliminating the risk of leakage of the valve body and supporting higher pipeline strength.
Minimalist internal parts design
PTFE/rubber bushing is wrapped around the surface of the plug to form a full wrap-around face seal; only the top surface and flange of the valve body need to be machined, and there are no cutting traces in the internal flow path.
Low friction sealing structure
The sealing surface of the valve body adopts a ring-shaped rib design, which reduces the contact area with the plug by 40% and reduces the opening and closing torque.
Top Mount Maintainability
Seals (bushings/O-rings) can be replaced through the top bonnet without disassembling the piping.

Applications

• Petrochemical: pipeline containing corrosive media (such as weak acid, alkali), resistance to intergranular corrosion, resistance to ≤ 98% sulfuric acid concentration conditions
• Municipal water: water supply network, sewage treatment plant, sediment abrasion resistance, opening and closing speed of ≤ 1 second to achieve rapid cut-off
• Food and pharmaceutical: non-sterile fluid transport (such as industrial water), plastic-lined plugs to avoid media contamination
• HVAC system: low-temperature steam distribution (≤ 120 ℃), low-cost flow regulation, leakage rate <0.01%
