There is no contact between the plug and seat unless some angle of the shutoff position is reached. When the plug contacts or "screws" into the seat, the seat surfaces are dynamically aligned to achieve shutoff. Eccentric rotary plug valves control corrosive, coking, and other hard-to-handle fluids, providing throttling or on/off operation. The flanged valves utilize streamlined flow passages and rugged metal inner member assemblies to provide reliable service in slurry applications. These valves are suitable for use in the mining, refining, power, and pulp and paper industries.
