2 way plug valve Description
Two-way plug valve is a valve that can be opened or closed by rotating the valve plug 90 degrees to connect or separate the channel opening on the valve body. The valve plug can be cylindrical or conical.
Structure and working principle
Main components
Valve body and valve cover: Casting process (cast iron, cast steel or stainless steel) is adopted, and the internal flow channel is a straight-through design;
Plug (valve core): Cylindrical or conical structure, with a rectangular/trapezoidal channel in the center, and the medium is controlled by 90° rotation;
Sealing system: Fluororubber or PTFE sealing ring is embedded in the surface of the valve plug to form a soft seal with the valve body; some models are equipped with hard alloy coating to enhance wear resistance;
Operating mechanism: The handle or handwheel drives the valve stem to drive the plug to rotate accurately (some with opening indication).
Workflow
Open: The plug channel is aligned with the pipeline, and the medium passes in a straight line (flow resistance loss ≤ 30% of conventional valves); Close: The plug rotates 90°, the channel vertically cuts off the medium, and the sealing surface is pressed to achieve zero leakage.
