Gas plug valve Description
Gas plug valve is a shut-off valve designed for the gas transmission system. It uses a rotating plug body to control the on and off of the gas. Its technical characteristics are as follows:
Core structure and working principle
Valve body structure
Eccentric plug: The center of the plug body deviates from the rotation axis to reduce friction and wear during opening and closing (refer to the design principle of the eccentric valve);
Sealing component: The elastic valve seat (such as fluororubber) and the metal plug body form a two-way seal. When closed, the plug body presses the valve seat to achieve zero leakage;
Operating mechanism: The handwheel or gear box drives the plug to rotate 90° for fast opening and closing, and some are equipped with opening and closing indicators.
Gas adaptation design
Anti-static structure: The built-in spring guides the friction static electricity of the operation to avoid gas detonation;
Full-bore flow channel: Reduce flow resistance and support the passage of pipeline sweepers;
Low structural height: Reduce the installation depth of buried pipelines.

Production standard
API 599: Core standard for design and manufacture of metal plug valves; API 6D: General specification for pipeline valves (including high-pressure plug valves).
Testing standard (API 598 / ISO 5208).
Shell strength test: 1.5 times the nominal pressure, pressure maintenance ≥ 3 minutes without leakage;
Seal test: Gas seal: 0.6MPa low-pressure gas detection (for gas leakage prevention);
Liquid seal: 1.1 times the nominal pressure, leakage <0.01DNmm³/s;
Fireproof test: API 607 verifies the sealing performance under fire conditions;
Operation torque test: Full opening and closing torque ≤ calibrated value.
