The elastic wedge gate valve is a valve type optimized for the sealing defects of traditional rigid gate valves. Its core features are as follows:
1. Core definition
Structural basis
It belongs to the branch of wedge gate valves. The gate body adopts a wedge-shaped design with an elastic structure. The gate adapts to the valve seat angle deviation through slight deformation, which significantly improves the sealing reliability.
Function positioning
It solves the problem of poor sealing caused by machining errors or thermal expansion and contraction of rigid gates, and has both forced sealing and compensation adjustment capabilities.
2. Structural characteristics
Elastic design mechanism
A transverse or longitudinal elastic groove is opened in the middle of the gate, which divides the gate into upper and lower parts, and the middle is flexibly connected by an elastic element (such as a spring sheet).
When closed, the gate is controlled to deform under the action of the valve stem thrust and the medium pressure, and accurately fits the valve seat sealing surface.
Key component optimization
The sealing surface is usually welded with cobalt-based alloys (such as Stellite 6) to enhance high temperature resistance (≤425℃) and anti-scouring capabilities.
The valve stem and the gate are connected by an inverted T-shaped groove, allowing the gate to adjust the angle adaptively.
3. Performance Advantages
Seal Adaptability
Elastic deformation can compensate for ±0.5° sealing surface angle deviation, effectively solving low-temperature blocking and high-temperature leakage problems.
The applicable pressure range is extended to 0.6-25MPa, covering Class 150 to Class 2500.
Working Condition Compatibility
Applicable to ash-water mixtures containing suspended particles (such as slag discharge systems of water conservancy projects).
It performs better than ordinary stainless steel valves in corrosive media such as chloride ions and sulfates.
4. Typical Application Limitations
Applicable media: slurry, slag-water mixtures, non-coking oil products, etc.
Temperature Limit: Long-term use temperature ≤250℃ (temperature resistance threshold of elastic elements).
Disabled scenarios: high-temperature coking media (such as delayed coking units) and high-concentration hydrochloric acid environments.
5. Representative Models
Z40H/Y type: rising stem elastic wedge gate valve, in accordance with GB/T12234 standard, suitable for oil and gas pipelines.
Z11 type: Specially used for hydraulic slurry discharge system, the valve body is strengthened with chrome-molybdenum steel.
This valve achieves a double breakthrough in sealing performance and adaptability to working conditions through the gate elastic deformation mechanism, becoming a key control equipment in the fields of petrochemical, hydraulic engineering, etc.
