A bellows sealed globe valve is a multi-turn valve in which a welded metal bellows surrounds the stem and carries the pressure boundary, so no packing is asked to seal against a sliding surface. The closure is a disc that lifts straight off a single seat ring, which is the structural difference from a gate valve: the globe disc never slides on the seat, and it can be held part open without the disc sitting in the flow path. API 602 covers the forged and small cast construction, API 600 the flanged steel globe valves, and ASME B16.34 the wall thickness and the pressure-temperature rating behind both; the build on this page is cast ASTM A351 CF8, dimensioned from DN 50 to DN 300 in Class 150 and Class 300.

design features
1.Exclusively designed bellows sealed globe valve has a sealing combination featured by using double walls stainless steel bellows as the stem seal elements and graphite packing as seal accessory to prevent leakage.
2. No fluid loss or reducing energy loss, and improving safety of plant equipment.
3. Being the key component, double wall bellows sealing keeps the valve free from leakage and maintenance.
4.Stellited sealing surface offers a long, corrosion resistant service.
Specifications
The table is the standard build as it leaves the works: cast ASTM A351 CF8 body and bonnet, ASTM A182 F304 trim with Stellited seating faces, double wall 304 bellows, graphite packing above it. Every line below appears again on the material list and on the drawing, so a substitution is visible rather than implied.

FAQ
What sizes and classes does a bellows sealed globe valve cover?
DN 50 to DN 300 (NPS 2 to NPS 12) in ASME Class 150 and Class 300, which is the range tabulated for dimensions and weight. Flange drilling runs from NPS ½ to NPS 20 in Class 150 and to NPS 12 in Class 300 and 600, so smaller and larger bodies are quoted against the same standards; their body dimensions are issued on the drawing rather than in a table.
Can a bellows sealed globe valve be used for throttling?
Yes, within limits. The disc lifts clear of the seat and can be held part open, which a gate valve cannot do without eroding the wedge and rings. Continuous throttling at a high pressure drop erodes the disc and seat, and flashing or cavitation belongs to a control valve with a multi-stage trim.
Is the seat metal or soft, and what leakage rate does it hold?
Metal as standard, with the seat ring and disc faces Stellited (items 2 and 3 of the material list), and it is accepted at ISO 5208 Rate D, 0.1 × DN mm³/s, which is 10 mm³/s at DN 100. A PTFE or PPL insert in the disc reaches Rate A on the same body where the temperature is under 250 °C, because the disc lifts straight off the single ring with no sliding contact to drag the insert. A gate valve has no equivalent option: its wedge slides across two rings on every stroke.
Will a globe valve fit where a gate valve was installed?
Not without re-work. ASME B16.10 gives the two patterns different face-to-face dimensions, 203 mm against 178 mm at NPS 2 and 699 mm against 356 mm at NPS 12 in Class 150. A short pattern ball valve shares the gate valve dimension; a globe valve does not.
How much does a bellows sealed globe valve weigh?
A DN 100 (NPS 4) Class 150 valve weighs 90 kg (198 lb), and the same size in Class 300 weighs 98 kg (216 lb). At DN 300 (NPS 12) the figures are 304 kg (670 lb) for Class 150 and 365 kg (805 lb) for Class 300. Those are approximate weights with the handwheel fitted, so a lifting plan should use the figure on the packing list rather than the catalogue table.
What material is the standard build?
Body and bonnet are ASTM A351 CF8. The seat ring, disc and stem are ASTM A182 F304, with Stellited seating faces. The bellows is ASTM A276 304 in double wall, the packing above it is graphite, and the two bonnet gaskets are SS304 with a graphite filler. Studs and bolts are A193 B8 with A194 8 nuts.
Does a bellows valve still need packing above the bellows?
Yes, as a failure buffer. If a convolution or a weld fails, the graphite packing holds the joint until the next shutdown. Without it, and without a tell-tale port, a bellows failure has no warning layer and becomes an unplanned release.
What sets the temperature limit of a bellows sealed globe valve?
The bellows alloy and the seat, not the body. A CF8 body is an austenitic casting with no graphitisation limit of the kind that applies to carbon steel, but the standard 304 bellows is practical to about 425 °C and a PTFE insert to 200 °C. Above 425 °C the bellows moves to Inconel 625 and, if the carbon steel option is being used, the body moves to A182 F22 at the same time.
