Metal-Seal Cast iron Gate Valve Description
Metal-sealed cast iron gate valve is a gate valve with cast iron as the valve body material and metal carbide (such as stainless steel, Stellite 6, etc.) as the sealing surface. It is suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure or particulate medium-containing industrial pipeline cut-off control. Its core design includes:
Metal sealing surface: The gate and valve seat are made of cladding carbide or integral stainless steel, which has strong wear resistance and temperature resistance of more than 200°C.
Double gate structure: Some models adopt a double valve plate design, which compensates for thermal expansion and contraction deformation through spring loading to prevent particulate media from penetrating into the sealing surface.
Drive mode: It supports manual, pneumatic or electric drive. The pneumatic actuator controls the valve plate to rise and fall through the upper and lower air intakes.
Performance characteristics High temperature and high pressure resistance
The cast iron valve body is suitable for Class 150~2500 pressure levels (≤1.0MPa normal working conditions), and the sealing surface stability under high temperature conditions is better than rubber soft seals.
Some models of valve bodies are sprayed with epoxy resin or made of ductile iron (QT450-10) to enhance corrosion resistance.
Wear-resistant and self-cleaning
The carbide sealing surface produces a grinding effect during the opening and closing process, which can polish the sealing surface and extend the service life.
The eccentric flow channel design forms a medium vortex when opening, automatically flushes the impurities in the valve cavity, and reduces the need for maintenance. Sealing reliability
The double gate spring loading structure can adapt to the wear of the sealing surface and the change of back pressure, and the leakage level reaches the API 598 standard.
Flexible graphite packing is set at the valve stem to prevent the leakage of the medium, and the maintenance cycle can reach more than 6 months.

Selection Recommendation
Sealing Material: Stellite 6 carbide is preferred for high temperature scenarios, and 316L stainless steel can be selected for corrosive media.
Drive Mode: Pneumatic/electric actuators are recommended for frequent operation or remote control scenarios.
Maintenance Specifications
Installation Direction: Vertical installation (stem facing up) is required to avoid impurity deposition affecting sealing performance.
Lubrication Cycle: Check the stem bearing and add grease every 3 months, shorten to 1 month in high temperature environments.
