Threaded swing check valves use a disc attached to an arm hinged at the top of the valve (located at the 12 o'clock position). Reverse flow and gravity help the valve close. Swing check valves can be used with most media and generally have good flow rates. They can only be installed in horizontal flow positions because they do not work well in vertical flow positions. Additionally, they do not seal well in low back pressure applications. These check valves range in size from ½ inch and below to 50 inches and above.
