The duckbill valve is a flexible rubber check valve without moving components, mainly used in sewage drainage systems, rainwater drainage systems, underground parking lot drainage systems, etc. Its functions include odor blocking and preventing sewage backflow, which can prevent floods and sewage backflow into basements or municipal pipes.
The working principle of the duckbill check valve is that when the liquid passes through the valve, the valve opens, and as the flow or pressure increases, the opening amplitude of the duckbill check valve will also increase. When the water flow stops, the backwater pressure or atmospheric pressure will press the duckbill valve tightly to prevent the backflow of liquid or odor. The pressure required to open the duckbill valve is relatively small, and it can usually be opened when the forward and reverse water level difference is 250Pa.
