Pneumatic Actuated Butterfly Valves

Pneumatic butterfly valve is a fluid control device composed of a pneumatic actuator and a butterfly valve body. The valve stem is driven by compressed air to rotate, driving the butterfly plate to rotate 0~90° in the pipeline to achieve the opening and closing, flow regulation and flow direction control of liquid, gas or powder media. Its core components include:

Pneumatic actuator: It uses compressed air as the power source, supports switch type or regulation type operation, and some models are equipped with positioners to achieve precise flow control.
Butterfly plate: A disc-shaped structure that changes the flow cross-sectional area of ​​the pipeline by rotation and has low flow resistance characteristics.
Valve body and sealing materials: Common materials include cast iron, stainless steel (such as 304/316L) and duplex steel. The sealing materials can be nitrile rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or metal hard seals.

Working principle
Basic action: The pneumatic actuator receives the control signal (such as the solenoid valve command), drives the valve stem to drive the butterfly plate to rotate, 0° is the fully closed state, and 90° is the fully open state.
‌Adjustment function‌: By inputting 4~20mA signal through the positioner, the butterfly plate opening can be accurately controlled to achieve flow rate proportional adjustment (such as 0~100% linear adjustment).
‌Emergency cutoff‌: When equipped with a quick exhaust valve, it can automatically close when the power or gas is cut off to ensure system safety‌.
