The valve plate of the sandwich-type ball valve is installed in the pipeline's diameter direction. In the cylindrical channel of the valve body, the disc-shaped valve plate rotates around the axis, with a rotation angle ranging from 0° to 90°. When it rotates to 90°, the valve is fully open. This valve is generally installed horizontally.
When the ball valve is in the fully open position, the thickness of the valve plate presents minimal resistance to the medium flowing through the valve body, resulting in a very small pressure drop and thus better flow control characteristics. The valve has two sealing types: elastic seal and metal seal. For elastic sealing valves, the sealing ring can be embedded in the valve body or attached to the periphery of the valve plate.
