Trunnion Ball Valve Description
Trunnion ball valves are capable of handling high pressure and large diameter applications. So far, the most popular use for trunnion ball valves is in pipeline services. These valves are especially suitable for natural gas pipelines with diameters up to 60 inches and pressures up to Class 600. If required, trunnion ball valves can also be used for even higher pressures. The trunnion design requires lower torque to open and close the valve, allowing the use of smaller actuators.
The trunnion design is also ideal for double block and bleed services because both the upstream and downstream seats float independently, and most designs include body or drain connections. Trunnion designs typically feature seat lubrication ports, allowing lubricant to be injected around the seats to aid in sealing.

Precautions for the use of trunnion ball valves
1. During the installation process, pay attention to the direction of the valve and the direction of the fluid medium to avoid inverted installation or fluid backflow.
2. During operation, avoid closing or opening two or more valves at the same time to prevent excessive pressure difference and damage to the valve.
3. During use, the sealing performance of the valve should be checked and maintained regularly to prevent leakage and other quality problems.
4. During storage, pay attention to the influence of the external environment to prevent the valve from being damaged or contaminated.
