High-Pressure 3-Way Ball Valves

High-pressure three-way ball valve is a control valve used in high-pressure fluid systems. It can switch the flow direction of the medium, connect the channels or selectively close them by rotating the ball. It is suitable for fluid control in high-pressure, high-temperature and highly corrosive environments such as petroleum, chemical industry and natural gas.

Structure and classification
Core components

The main structure is composed of the valve body, ball, valve seat, valve stem and operating handle. The valve body is mostly made of stainless steel or carbon steel, and the ball can be made of pressure-resistant materials such as brass and stainless steel.

Sealing materials include fluororubber, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), etc. to ensure sealing under high-pressure environments.

Type classification
T-type: Three orthogonal pipes can be connected to each other or the third channel can be cut off, which is suitable for diversion and confluence conditions.
L-type: Only two orthogonal pipes are connected, and the third channel cannot be connected at the same time. It is mainly used for medium distribution.
Y-type: Design 120° or 135° diversion port, suitable for medium switching scenarios.

Working Principle
The valve stem is driven to rotate by the handle or actuator, driving the ball to rotate to different angles to open and close the channel or switch the flow direction:
‌Fully open state‌: the ball channel is aligned with the pipeline, and the medium flows freely;
‌Closed state‌: the ball rotates 90° to block the flow of the medium‌.
The sealing mechanism relies on the mechanical wedge pressure between the valve seat and the ball and the elastic sealing material to ensure zero leakage under high pressure‌.
