Cast Steel Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves Description
Cast steel trunnion ball valve is a fixed ball valve. Its ball is fixed to the center of the valve body by the upper and lower shafts. Under the medium pressure, the floating valve seat moves and presses the ball to achieve two-way sealing. It is specially designed for high-pressure, large-diameter and long-distance pipelines.
Main structure
Valve body and ball:
The valve body is made of cast steel (WCB), stainless steel (304/316L) or forged steel, and the surface of the ball is hard alloy surfacing to enhance wear resistance.
The trunnion (upper and lower shafts) fix the ball to avoid ball displacement and reduce operating torque.
Seal assembly:
Floating valve seat: Driven by the medium pressure, the ball is pressed to form a self-tightening seal, which supports two-way sealing.
Fireproof design: In the event of a fire, the valve seat retainer and the valve body form a metal seal (in accordance with API 607 standard).
