Lubricated Plug Valve

Lubricated plug valves are quarter-turn mechanical valves. The seal is provided by the grease between the two metal surfaces, therefore, it is called a lubricated plug valve. They are used in various industrial facilities, especially oil and gas.

Lubricated plug valves can be divided into conventional lubricated plug valves and pressure balanced plug valves. Special grease is injected from the top of the plug body between the valve cone hole and the plug body to form an oil film, which reduces the valve opening and closing torque and increases sealing and service life. The operating pressure can reach 420MPa, the maximum operating temperature is 325℃, and the maximum size is 600mm.

● Creates a renewable seal between the valve body and valve plug, minimizing internal leakage.

● Protect surfaces from corrosion.

● Lubricates surfaces, reducing necessary driving force.

● Greater lubricant pressure prevents solids from entering the plug cavity.

● High risk of lubrication contamination (risk reduced by using compatible lubricants).

● Has more moving parts than a non-lubricated valve.
