T-shaped valve bodies are the most commonly used, but the flow resistance produced by this form of valve body in the tortuous flow path is the highest among all forms. The T-shaped valve body has low flow characteristics and high pressure drop and can be used for rapid throttling, such as in a bypass bypassing a control valve.

The globe valve uses two methods to connect the valve plate and valve stem. T-slot and valve disc nut structure. In a T-slot design, the disc slides on the stem, while in a disc nut design, the disc threads into the stem.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Globe Valve
We can use stop valves to stop, start, and regulate flow. Being able to regulate flow through the valve is a big advantage of a globe valve, as some valves are unable to do this.

The valve seat of the globe valve is better than that of other types of valves. This is because the valve disc and the valve seat are at right angles, which means that we can exert considerable force on the valve disc to make it fit correctly on the valve seat, so that There will be no material flowing through the valve.

Still, there are some disadvantages to globe valves. The most important of these is the large head loss or pressure drop through the valve, because the flowing medium must go through many turns to pass through the valve. This creates a large pressure drop compared to other types of valves and also represents a loss of energy.

At the same time, stop valves are not suitable for systems with large flow pulsations or sudden pressure increases and drops, because these instantaneous flow pulsations often damage valve trim and packing.

Additionally, large globe valves require a lot of power to operate and can be noisy if used in high-pressure applications. And the bonnet of a globe valve will be very large to accommodate the trim, making it heavier than most other valves with the same flow rate.
