Chain operated gate valve is a valve that controls the opening and closing of the gate through a chain transmission mechanism. Its main components include a sprocket, a chain and a handwheel (or an electric drive device). When the handwheel is driven manually or electrically, the sprocket rotates, and the gate is driven to move up and down linearly through the chain, thereby opening and closing the valve.

Chain Operated Gate Valve Description

 

Chain operated gate valve is a derivative type of the knife-type gate valve. It uses a sprocket drive mechanism to drive the gate plate to rise and fall. It is designed for high-level operation, medium containing particles and large flow control scenarios. Its core functions include cutting fiber impurities, fast opening and closing, and adapting to complex installation environments.

Structural composition
The chain gate valve consists of the following core components:

‌Valve body and gate plate‌:

‌Valve body‌: cast iron, cast steel or stainless steel, the channel is a full-diameter design, and the inner wall sealing surface is precisely machined to match the gate plate;
‌Gate plate‌: knife-shaped structure (thickness is only 6-12mm), with sharp edges that can cut fibers or solid particles, and the material can be hardened steel, 316L stainless steel or ceramic coating.
‌Sprocket drive mechanism‌:

‌Sprocket and chain‌: High-strength alloy steel sprocket meshing precision roller chain, transmission efficiency ≥95%, chain length can be customized (up to 20 meters) to adapt to high-level pipelines;
‌Drive device‌: Standard manual sprocket (upgradeable to electric/pneumatic), torque output range 10-500N·m.
‌Seal and valve stem system‌:

‌Seal structure‌: Bidirectional metal hard seal (leakage rate ≤0.1% DN) or PTFE soft seal (zero leakage), scraper device to prevent impurities from entering the sealing chamber;
‌Valve stem‌: Stainless steel material, hard chrome plated surface, packing seal uses graphite winding or V-shaped PTFE ring.
