Horizontal Check Valve

Horizontal check valve‌ (also known as ‌check valve‌, ‌one-way valve‌) is an automatic valve used to prevent the backflow of media in pipelines‌. Its core function is to drive the opening and closing parts (such as valve discs) through the force generated by the flow of the medium itself, to achieve one-way conduction and reverse blocking, to ensure that the medium flows only in one direction, and to avoid accidents caused by pump reversal and media backflow.

Structural characteristics ‌
The valve body is installed horizontally on the pipeline. Its appearance is similar to that of a stop valve. The opening and closing parts are mostly round valve discs, which rely on their own weight and medium pressure to operate. ‌
The material is adapted to different medium requirements, such as cast iron for conventional working conditions and stainless steel for corrosive media. 
Working principle ‌
‌Forward flow ‌: The medium flow pressure pushes the valve disc to open, allowing circulation. ‌Reverse flow ‌: When the medium flows backward, the valve disc is automatically closed by gravity and reverse pressure to block the backflow ‌

‌Applicable scenarios‌
Horizontal pipeline systems (such as oil transportation, water pump outlet). ‌One-way flow control of clean media (no solid particles, low viscosity). ‌Installation restrictions‌
‌Horizontal installation only: the valve disc needs to be reset by gravity, and vertical or inclined installation will cause functional failure. ‌Pipes with a nominal diameter of ≥50mm are preferred, and swing check valves can be selected for small-diameter scenarios.
