Super duplex steel ball valve is a type of valve whose main components-including the valve body, ball, stem, and metal seats-are cast or forged from materials such as ASTM A995 Gr.5A (CE3MN), ASTM A995 Gr.6A (CD3MWCuN), A182 F53, A182 F55, or 2507. It exhibits high strength and excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride-containing environments.
The material used for the valve body has a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) > 40, with a chromium content of 25%, high molybdenum (>3.5%), and high nitrogen (0.22%–0.3%). Its microstructure consists of austenite and ferrite, theoretically each accounting for 50%, combining the advantages of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels.
This type of steel is characterized by low carbon content, high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen, offering high strength, good overall performance, and superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. As a result, this product is widely used in strongly oxidizing and reducing acidic environments and exhibits exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-containing media. It is particularly suitable for use in corrosive conditions involving both erosion and abrasion.
