Motor operated ball valve is a key actuator in industrial automation control. The electric actuator drives the ball to rotate 90° to achieve the on-off, regulation and flow direction switching of pipeline media. Its core structure includes:
Valve body: Made of cast steel, stainless steel or ductile iron, the pressure range covers PN16~PN420, suitable for high temperature (-196℃~+650℃) and corrosive media;
Ball: Full-bore or V-shaped cut design, surface plated with carbide (such as tungsten carbide) to enhance wear resistance, support linear flow regulation;
Sealing component: Combination of metal hard seal and elastic valve seat (PTFE, graphite), the leakage level can reach ANSI VI level;
Electric actuator: Integrated motor, gearbox and control module, support 4~20mA signal input, suitable for explosion-proof environment and remote control.
Working principle
Drive mechanism: After receiving the control signal, the motor drives the gear/worm transmission mechanism to transmit the rotational torque to the valve stem, driving the ball to rotate 90°; Flow control: When the ball hole is aligned with the pipe, it is fully open (flow rate reaches 100%), and when it is vertical, it is fully closed (zero leakage). The V-shaped cut ball supports ±2% precision linear adjustment; Signal feedback: The built-in potentiometer or encoder provides real-time feedback on the valve opening, and is linked with the PLC/DCS system to achieve closed-loop control.
