Hydrogen Ball Valve

Hydrogen ball valves are valves designed for hydrogen systems that control the cutting, distribution and switching of the flow of hydrogen by rotating an internal sphere. Due to the characteristics of the medium (flammable and diffusible), these valves are characterised by a high degree of sealing, corrosion resistance and anti-static properties.

Hydrogen ball valves are specially designed for hydrogen systems. They are used to cut, distribute and control the flow of hydrogen by rotating the sphere, and are characterised by strong sealing, low flow resistance and high pressure resistance13 . It has strong sealing, low flow resistance, high pressure resistance and other characteristics. Its core functions include:

Emergency shut-off: linked with sensors to quickly shut off the gas source in case of leakage to prevent safety accidents;
Multi-scenario adaptation: applicable to petrochemical hydrogenation process, hydrogen storage and transportation and hydrogen refuelling station and other scenarios.

Structure and Key Technology
Main body design:
Valve body material: 304/316 stainless steel is the mainstream, part of the PFA lining to enhance corrosion resistance;
Seal form: soft seal (PTFE/PPL) or metal hard seal (alloy/tungsten carbide), the latter has better wear resistance.
Innovative technology:
Multi-stage sealing patent: Through the linkage mechanism of pull wire, slide plug and ring capsule, the sealing seat is contacted only when the valve is closed, reducing friction loss (Patent CN119914701A);
Anti-static design: the ball and valve stem are electrostatically conductive to avoid the risk of hydrogen explosion.
