Ductile iron ball valves, on the other hand, are made of ductile iron and are suitable for media such as water, steam, air and oil at PN≤4.0MPa and temperatures of -30 to 350°C. The valves have a higher impact resistance and wear resistance than gray cast iron valves. Compared with gray cast iron valves, it has higher impact resistance and abrasion resistance, as well as lower thermal conductivity and higher fluidity performance. Therefore, ductile iron valves are often used in processes with higher pressures and temperatures.

How to distinguish between gray iron valves and ductile iron valves

1. According to the cutting surface.
Gray iron: gray, gloss is very dark, the surface seems rough.
Ductile iron: gray, luster is brighter than gray iron, surface roughness like gray iron.

2. File test.
Gray iron: filing resistance is small, filing the "swish" sound, very few sticky file, chip was gray-black, there are a small number of silver-white highlights, look closely at the size of the particles are different to small particles of fines, mainly with the finger grinding, it is easy to make the finger stained black.
Ductile iron: filing resistance than gray iron is slightly larger, there is also a more obvious "swish'' sound, rarely sticky file, chip end was gray-black, there are fine highlights, particle size varies, but with large particles mainly, with fingers grinding chips, can make the finger stained black, but the degree of stained black than gray iron is light.

3. Listen to the knocking sound.
Gray iron: low sound, duration is very short.
Ductile iron: the sound is crisp and clear, there is a residual sound, the duration is shorter.
