Body RF Flanges Ball Valve

Body RF Flanges Ball Valve

Body RF Flanged Ball Valve is a quarter-turn valve that utilizes a bored sphere (ball) to control the flow of media. The "RF" stands for Raised Face, which refers to the flange design where the gasket surface is elevated (typically by 3mm or 7mm) above the bolting circle face. This design concentrates more pressure on a smaller gasket area, significantly enhancing the sealing integrity for high-pressure applications up to 4.0 MPa (PN40) or higher.

Body RF Flanges Ball Valve is a quarter-turn isolation device featuring Raised Face (RF) flanges that concentrate bolt pressure for superior sealing in PN16–PN40 systems. Typically constructed from ASTM A216 WCB with RPTFE seats, it ensures bubble-tight shut-off for oil, gas, and steam. Its blow-out proof stem and fire-safe design, compliant with API 6D standards, provide critical safety in high-pressure environments, while the bolted flange connection allows for easy maintenance and secure pipeline integration.

Features: Body RF Flanged Ball Valve

RF Sealing Performance: The 3mm raised face ensures high unit pressure on the gasket. When used with spiral wound gaskets, it provides superior sealing for PN40 medium-to-high pressure systems.

Blow-out Proof Stem: The stem is designed with an integral T-type shoulder, internally loaded. This ensures the stem cannot be ejected from the body even under extreme cavity pressure.

Anti-Static Device: A spring-loaded ball is fitted between the ball/stem and stem/body to ensure electrical continuity, discharging static electricity buildup and preventing sparks in flammable environments.

Fire-Safe Design: In the event of a fire that destroys the soft seats, the ball is pushed by pressure against a secondary metal seat integrated into the body to achieve a temporary seal.

ISO 5211 Direct Mount Pad: Most modern designs feature a standardized mounting flange, allowing for the direct installation of pneumatic or electric actuators without the need for additional brackets.

FAQ

What does RF mean on a valve?

RF stands for Raised Face.

It refers to a flange design where the gasket sealing surface is elevated (usually by 3mm or 1/16") above the bolt hole face.

What is a flanged ball valve used for?

A flanged ball valve is primarily used for reliable on/off (shut-off) flow control in industrial piping systems. Because the flanged ends are bolted directly to the pipe, they are the preferred choice for:

High-Pressure & Large Diameter Pipes: Flanges provide a stronger, more leak-resistant connection than threaded or welded joints in heavy-duty environments.

Easy Maintenance: The valve can be easily unbolted and removed from the pipeline for repair or replacement without cutting the pipe.

Diverse Media: They are used to handle liquids, gases, and slurries in industries like oil and gas, chemical processing, water treatment, and power plants.

Bubble-Tight Sealing: They are ideal for applications requiring a "zero-leakage" seal to ensure safety and prevent environmental contamination.
