Three-piece cryogenic ball valves are similar to two-piece ball valves. They consist of a main valve body and two sub-bodies, which is why they are called three-piece ball valves. After the spool and stem are installed into the main valve body, the sub-bodies are installed into the valve seat. The main and sub-bodies are then connected as a single unit by bolts, and the spool flow path maintains a full bore size.
