Wafer Knife Gate Valve Description
The knife gate valve is a valve that realizes full open/close control through the linear motion of the gate. The bottom of the gate is designed with a knife-shaped bevel cut, which can cut off complex media such as fibers and particles. It is widely used in mining, sewage treatment, food hygiene and other fields.
Material and specifications:
Valve body and gate: cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel (304/316L) or alloy steel, pressure resistance level ≤ PN16 (1.6MPa), applicable temperature ≤ 180℃;
Size range: DN50~DN600, ultra-short structure length saves installation space.
Key structural design:
Knife-shaped gate: wedge-shaped or parallel sealing surface, can cut off slurry, fiber and other media, reduce the risk of clogging;
Sealing form: hard seal (hard alloy), soft seal (PTFE/rubber) or double seal structure, leakage level up to ANSI Class VI;
Driving mode: manual, pneumatic, electric or worm gear drive, rising stem structure (valve stem lifting) and concealed stem structure (valve stem rotating) optional.

Selection and maintenance points
Selection recommendations:
Media characteristics: Hard seals are preferred for fluids containing particles, and stainless steel or fluorine-lined valve bodies are selected for corrosive media;
Pressure level: For high pressure difference conditions (≥PN10), it is recommended to select a rising stem structure to enhance sealing stability.
Maintenance specifications: Check the wear of the sealing surface every 3 months (soft seals need to be replaced if they are worn ≥2mm);
Manual opening and closing 2~3 times for long-term disuse to prevent the gate from sticking to the valve seat;
Pneumatic/electric drives require regular lubrication of gears or worm gear components to avoid jamming.
