Ductile Iron Gate Valve

Ductile iron gate valve is suitable for media such as water, steam, air and oil with PN≤4.0MPa and temperature of -30~350℃. Commonly used grades include: QT400-15, QT450-10, QT500-7.

Gate valves usually consist of two main parts: the valve body and the valve cover, which form the pressure-bearing shell of the gate valve. There are various designs for the interface between these two components.

1) The threaded joint is the simplest design, but it is only used on cheap low pressure bronze valves.
2) Union joints are also mainly used for bronze valves, but the union design can be more easily disassembled for repair and maintenance.
3) Bolted bonnet fittings are the most popular fittings and are used on the vast majority of gate valves in today's industrial applications. Unlike threaded valves and union bonnets, bolted bonnet connections require a gasket to seal the connection between the valve body and bonnet.
4) The pressure sealing joint is activated by the fluid pressure in the valve body acting on a wedge-shaped soft iron or graphite gasket wedged between the valve body and the valve cover. On pressure-sealed valves, the higher the valve body cavity pressure, the greater the force on the gasket. Pressure sealing bonnets are widely used in high pressure and high temperature applications such as the power industry.
5) Welded bonnet is a very popular valve body bonnet joint for compact steel valves in sizes ½ inch to 2 inches and pressure ratings 800 to 2500 without the need for disassembly.
