Cryogenic Gate Valves

Cryogenic gate valves are valves specially used for ultra-low temperature media below -150℃ (such as liquefied natural gas, liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, etc.). They realize opening and closing control through the vertically moving gate, which is suitable for full open/full closed working conditions and widely used in deep cold storage and transportation, air separation equipment and chemical plants.

Core parameters and structural characteristics

Basic design:
Opening and closing mode: The gate moves perpendicular to the fluid direction, only supports full open or full closed operation, and cannot be used for flow regulation.
Applicable temperature: -196℃~+80℃ (special material treatment is required for ultra-low temperature working conditions).

Material and sealing:
Valve body material: cast steel (WCB), stainless steel (304/316L) or low temperature alloy steel (LCB), the valve seat sealing surface is welded with cobalt-based hard alloy to enhance wear resistance.
Seal structure: elastic preload bidirectional seal, valve seat with self-cleaning function to avoid medium particle jamming.

Pressure resistance level‌:
Nominal pressure range: PN16~PN320 (corresponding to Class 150~Class 1500), can withstand the expansion pressure of liquid medium phase change‌.

Applications

‌Liquid gas storage and transportation‌:

LNG receiving stations, liquid oxygen/liquid nitrogen storage tank inlet and outlet pipelines, used for emergency shutoff and isolation‌.
Cryogenic tank truck loading and unloading systems, withstanding the extreme low temperature impact of liquid nitrogen, liquid argon and other media‌.

‌Industrial installations‌:

The liquid oxygen pump outlet pipeline in the air separation equipment must comply with the ISO 15848 cryogenic valve standard‌.
Chemical deep cold reaction system, suitable for corrosive media containing H₂S or CO₂‌.
