Spring type check valve When the fluid starts to flow, the valve flap opens under the action of the combined force (F) acting on the center of the sealing surface. The spring support force (Fs), which plays the opposite role, is located outside the center of the valve surface, making the root of the valve open first. This effectively avoids the friction on the sealing surface that occurs when the flap opens in older conventional valves.
When the flow rate slows down, the torsion spring automatically counteracts, so that the valve closes, close to the valve seat, reducing the distance and time of the closing stroke. When the fluid flows backwards, the valve flap gradually moves closer to the valve seat and the dynamic response of the valve is then greatly accelerated. This dramatically reduces the effects of water hammer, resulting in non-impact performance.
During closure, the spring force acts at the point where the tip of the valve closes first. This prevents galling at the root of the flap and allows the valve to maintain a longer sealing integrity.
The valve can maintain the sealing integrity for a longer period of time.
