quiet check valve Description
Silent check valve is a valve that automatically opens and closes by the flow of the medium itself. It is used to prevent the backflow of the medium. It is also called non-return valve, one-way valve or back pressure valve. Its core function is to block the backflow while significantly reducing the water hammer effect and mechanical noise (noise ≤30dB when closed) through low flow resistance design and fast closing mechanism.
Core structure and working principle
Key components
Valve flap and guide body: disc-shaped valve flap (metal or composite material) and streamlined guide body are used to reduce fluid disturbance, and the flow resistance coefficient is as low as 0.1~0.3;
Spring/gravity reset system: supports fast closing (closing time ≤0.5 seconds), and some models integrate hydraulic damping devices to extend the closing time to 3~5 seconds to reduce water hammer impact;
Sealing system: soft seal (rubber/PTFE) or metal hard seal (such as tungsten carbide spray), the leakage level can reach ANSI Class VI.
Working principle
Forward flow: The medium pressure pushes the valve disc open, forming a fully open state (opening angle 75°~90°), and the flow channel cross-sectional area is maximized; Reverse closing: When the medium flows back, the valve disc quickly fits the valve seat under the action of spring force or gravity, and the sealing surface instantly forms a pressure difference to block the backflow.

Selection and installation specifications
Key points for selection
Media adaptation: Clean liquids are preferred to soft seals, while medium containing particles requires hard seals or pre-filtration;
Pressure matching: Forged steel valve bodies are used for high-pressure scenarios (≥Class 600), and cast iron can be used for low-pressure scenarios;
Installation direction: Large-diameter valves (DN≥600) are recommended to be installed vertically to reduce the risk of unilateral wear.
Maintenance requirements
Check the wear of the valve disc sealing surface and the spring elasticity every 2 years, and lubricate the shaft bearing (high-temperature resistant grease);
For medium containing particles, the flow channel of the guide body needs to be cleaned every 6 months to prevent blockage
