High Pressure Butterfly Valve

High-pressure butterfly valve is a butterfly valve used in high-pressure pipeline systems. It drives the disc-shaped butterfly plate to open and close by rotating the valve stem to achieve on-off control or flow regulation of the fluid medium. The applicable nominal pressure range is PN10.0~80.0MPa (some ultra-high pressure models can reach PN>100MPa). Its core functions include:

Cut-off and throttling: The rotation angle of the butterfly plate can accurately adjust the medium flow, but due to the large flow resistance, the system pressure loss needs to be considered;

High-pressure adaptability: By strengthening the valve body structure and sealing design, it can withstand high-pressure and high-temperature working conditions (such as steam, oil and gas).

Core structure and characteristics

Sealing form:

Metal hard seal: Made of stainless steel, alloy and other materials, with a pressure rating ≥PN25 and a temperature resistance of up to 425℃;

Composite seal: Combine metal sealing rings with elastic materials (such as flexible graphite) to balance high-pressure sealing and shock resistance. ‌Valve body reinforcement‌:
Add reinforcement ribs to cast steel or stainless steel valve bodies to improve rigidity and anti-deformation capabilities;
Large-diameter high-pressure butterfly valves (DN≥500) are mostly connected by flanges to reduce the risk of leakage.

Applications
‌Energy industry‌: gas transmission pipeline (PN25), steam system (high temperature and high pressure medium control);
‌Chemical industry‌: high pressure reactor inlet and outlet regulation (explosion-proof certification required);
‌Shipbuilding engineering‌: seawater cooling pipeline (stainless steel, resistant to salt spray corrosion).

Selection and operation and maintenance points‌
‌Selection parameters‌:
‌Pressure matching‌: Select the pressure level according to the peak pressure of the system (it is recommended to leave a 20% safety margin);
‌Drive mode‌: DN≤300 can choose manual or pneumatic drive, DN≥400 prefer electric/hydraulic actuator.
‌Maintenance specifications‌:
Regularly check the wear depth of the sealing surface (＞0.1mm needs to be repaired or replaced);
The grease should be high temperature resistant (such as molybdenum disulfide-based grease) and suitable for high pressure environment
