Parallel Double-Disc Gate Valve Description
Parallel double disc gate valve (also known as parallel double gate gate valve) is a kind of valve that opens and closes through the vertical movement of two parallel gates, specially designed for the cut-off control of high-pressure, high-flow or impurity-containing mediums, and is suitable for petroleum, chemical, electric power and other industrial scenarios. Its core structure follows API 600 and GB/T 12234 standards, featuring double gate elastic seal and low flow resistance.

I. Preparation before installation
Equipment inspection:
Check whether the valve body, gate and sealing surface are free from damage, confirm that the actuator (manual/electrical) matches the valve and the wiring terminals are intact.
Check whether the valve specifications (DN, pressure level) and pipeline parameters are consistent.
Tools and materials:
Prepare flange bolts, sealing gaskets (graphite metal winding gasket is recommended), grease, spanner, level and so on.
II. Installation direction and positioning
Vertical installation requirements:
Stem direction: must be placed vertically, handwheel or actuator is located at the top to ensure that the parallel movement of the gate is not interfered by gravity.
Flange alignment: Parallel alignment with the pipeline flange to avoid deformation of the valve body due to forced installation (calibrated with a level).
Bypass valve configuration (if any):
Before installation, it is necessary to open the bypass valve to balance the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet and reduce the opening resistance (applicable to high-pressure systems).
III. Installation Steps
Flange connection:
Place the valve between the two flanges, insert the bolts and tighten them initially to correct the flange parallelism, then remove the valve.
Weld the flange to the pipeline to ensure that the welding slag does not fall into the valve cavity (need to clean the inner wall after welding).
Valve fixing:
Back to install the valve, according to the diagonal order in 3 times evenly tighten the bolts (final torque according to the standard requirements).
Full bore valves need to check whether the inner diameter of the pipeline is ≥ the inner diameter of the valve, to prevent interference between the butterfly plate and the pipeline.
Actuator commissioning:
After wiring the electric/pneumatic actuator, manually open it to 50% opening degree and then energise it to verify that the opening and closing direction is consistent with the indication.
Test the full-stroke switch action to ensure that there is no jamming (need to reserve space for thermal expansion of the valve stem)
