Half Ball Valve Description

 

Half ball valve is a rotary spool with hemispherical structure to control the fluid through or regulation of the valve, its core component is a hemispherical ball crown (not a complete sphere), the use of eccentric or straight-through design to achieve the opening and closing, suitable for particles, high viscosity or corrosive media.

Structure composition

  • Valve body and bonnet: the main structure, split design for easy maintenance, some models with side-mounted (single-side sealing structure) or extended neck (low-temperature scenarios).
  • Eccentric shaft/stem: the core component to drive the rotation of the hemispherical spool, eccentric design to reduce the friction of the sealing surface.
  • Ball crown (spool): hemispherical structure, mirror-polished surface, and the valve seat to form a sealing vice, some hard seal models surface plated carbide.
  • Seat and sealing ring:
  • Metal seal: Surfacing cemented carbide (such as 1Cr13), high temperature and erosion resistance.
  • Non-metallic seal: PTFE, RTFE and other polymer materials, corrosion resistance and low coefficient of friction.
  • Auxiliary components: anti-blow-out valve stem, spring compensation device, self-cleaning flow path, etc.

Specification

  • Nominal diameter: DN15~DN600 (large-calibre models up to DN1200).
  • Pressure level: Class150~Class900 (high pressure model supports 42MPa).
  • Connection: flange, threaded or clamped, side-mounted type is compact and easy to install.
